Seventeenth-century Venetian Villa in the heart of the Marca

Traditional Venetian country villa built around 1676, commissioned by ?? the noble Gregorio Rota, whose family lived in Cordignano since the fifteenth century. Villa Brandolini Rota is located inside a country estate in the north-eastern province of Treviso surrounded by mountains, hills and plains. The old building used as the administration, now houses four apartments where you can spend a relaxing holiday.

The architectural complex, located in the commercial and financial heart of the town, was erected according to the style of the seventeenth century Venetian Villas. The Villa has three entrances: the main entrance is in Via Roma, with a wrought-iron gate with the family coat of arms, another entrance is near the bridge over the river Meschio and the last is in Via della Vigna.

Villa Brandolini Rota, now Zanussi, is structured as a typical Venetian country Villa: a two-storey main building with a raised central section ending with a tympanum and two side wings on the lower side, a reception room in the center with three-mullioned windows and two single lancet windows on the first floor . To conclude this symmetrical and harmonious tripartite facade, there is a dentil cornice.

Relaxing holidays in the park of a country villa

The main building follows the layout of the seventeenth century Venetian Villas inserting itself into the garden through two colonnaded side wings, which are characterized by the same simplicity, from an imposing gable which covers the entire central portion and three arched openings sustained by Doric capitals pilasters.

The estate is completed by other buildings which demonstrate its importance within the economic system of the town: the stables converted into winery, cellars, dairy and greenhouses. The small octagonal chapel of St. Francis, once a private chapel and family burial ground is also part of this complex.

The estate, besides continuing the agricultural activity through the production of fine wines, is also a mansion converted into a relaxing holiday resort: it is possible to rent the apartments which have been created from the conversion of the old administration building and treat yourself to a short weekend or a longer stay.
